[Marxism] "Marxist Economic Theory" - Ernest Mandel

Mandel repudiated MET, if I remember correctly.
Personally I think its terrible.

William Blake's Marxist Economic Theory and Its Criticism is long out of print
but useful.

I hesitate to recommend Paul Sweezy's Theory of Capitalist Development because
it is so riddled with distortions, but at least it lays out the major elements,
fairly clearly and economically.

Vitaly Vygodsky, The Story of a Great Discovery (Abacus, 1974) and, in a
different and slightly abridged translation A Book For All Time (Novosti, nd)
is very valuable.

If you can find it, John Fox and William Johnston, Understanding Capital - A
Guide to Volume 1 (Toronto Marxist Institute, 1978) is a careful chapter by
chapter companion to reading Capital, with a good glossary and questions. If I
can sort out the copyright, I'm hoping to add it to the MIA economics archive.

Rubin's Essays on Marx's Theory of Value is a more advanced work, available on
The Marxists Internet Archive.

But there's no substitute for the masterwork ...
