"I watched CNN in Spanish and English tonight to see what would happen to
Barrack and  Hillary and the others. CNN in Spanish gave the nod to Hillary
two hours before CNN in English did. 

"By the time I signed off, Hillary had spoken, Barrack had not."

I can assure you that CNN en Español did not "give the nod" -- recognize
Hillary's victory -- any sooner than the English language channel did, for
this channel doesn't make its own independent "calls" of electoral races in
the U.S., but rather follows what CNN in English does in this regard,
lock-step. And the CNN International channels in English were simply a
rebroadcast what the CNN U.S. channel was putting out.

It IS TRUE, however, that in the informal commentary by the anchors, from
the outset tonight the anchors in the Spanish-language channel noted that
Hillary was leading without a lot of cretinous map-reading about what
college towns votes hadn’t yet been counted and so on to suggest that Obama
might come out on top in the end. (The reasons for this I will explain in
another post). 

Obama did in fact speak, and right before Hillary, and only seconds after
CNN (in English and Spanish) formally called the race for Hillary, along
with the other networks. About 10 minutes earlier, the AP jumped the gun and
called the race for Hillary, but the other members of the media election
cartel, who receive centralized recommendations about when to "call" a race
from the Edison-Mitofsky firm that does the exit polling and analyzes the
returns in light of the exit poll (and vice-versa), waited a few more
minutes before making it "official." 

His spontaneous "concession" speech was about 10 times as dynamic and even
triumphalist than Hillary's own talk -- which for some reason she delivered
with all the grace and conviction that I imagine Lou Dobbs might bring to
giving a major address to a Hispanic audience of the many contributions of
current immigrants to "our nation."
