I think the original focus was to provide a forum
for the discussion of theoretical issues in Marxism,
especially they relate to questions of praxis, hence
the title, Thaxis,  I agree that in terms of discussion
topics, there is a lot overlap between Thaxis
and Marxmail.  On the other hand, there
are lots of people on Thaxis who probably
wouldn't be caught dead on Marxmail and
vice versa. 

(You have perhaps heard
the joke about the Jew who was stranded
on a desert island. Later when he was rescued,
his rescuers noted that there were three huts
on the island, and they asked the Jew what
that was about. He replied that the first hut
was built as the synagogue where he 
davened (worshipped in).  The second
hut was the synagogue which he wouldn't
step foot in, and third one was the one
where he wouldn't be caught dead in).

I am afraid that Marxists are rather like this too.
