I don't know that Edwards is such a long shot. He's been positioning
himself all along as the "white male" alternative to a C and O ticket.

Hilary Clinton has strong negatives, particularly in the fact that she
would galvanize every yahoo Republican on the planet, Obama's negatives
are "experience" and skin color. They both might add up to too much for
the DP's good ol boys to risk their money on.

Right now it helps Edwards to posture as a pro-labor progressive. Once
he gets the nomination, he will move to the right and will have trapped
Nader and labor to go along with him.

Its a strategy that might work. It has before.
