Dearie me Louis, I thought you might have learnt to fact check after you
claimed last year there has never ever ever been any coverage at all of
Croatian chauvinism in GLW, lecturing us with some mainstream media article
article from 1995, and soon after I could give the list 10 examples of GL
reporting on and condemning Croatian chauvinism, starting from 1992. So are
you going to wait a few more months to relay another smear and hope no one
bothers to check this time? Or you could just keep typing the word
Serbophobia a lot. We'll just keep on consisting supporting
self-determination and democratic rights and consistently opposing
chauvinism.
KOSOVA: Independence needed to end violence

...Clashes between Albanians and Serbs, involving firearms, grenades and
rocks broke out on March 17 in the northern Kosova city of Mitrovica. They
were sparked by the drowning of three Albanian children.
Tensions began in Caglavica on the same day, when, following the shooting
injury of a Serb youth, Serbs blocked the main highway to Macedonia.
NATO troops and UN and Kosovar police used tear gas and rubber bullets, and
shot dead an Albanian in Caglavica, attempting to block the way of the
Albanian mobs, who responded with gunshots and grenades, setting UN vehicles
on fire.
Around 30 people were killed and 600 injured. Around 200 Serb homes and 30
Serb Orthodox churches were destroyed. Some 150 Kosova Force (KFOR) troops
and UN police were injured, and two killed, and 72 UN vehicles destroyed.
Around 200 people were arrested.
Following this, Albanian mobs elsewhere in Kosova launched pogroms against
small, isolated pockets of minority Serbs, burning Serb houses and Orthodox
churches.
Kosova declares independence

...However, most Serbs remain opposed to independence, as a result of their
experience of sporadic violence from Albanians. Following the mass return of
dispossessed Albanians in June 1999, a wave of some 100,000 Serbs fled
Kosova, precipitated by Albanian revenge killings. Anti-Serb pogroms erupted
briefly again in March 2004, when eight Serbs were killed and 11 Albanian
rioters shot dead by NATO troops.
