Last June, I believe, the City Univ of NY, a "small" institution with "just" 244,000 students, where adjuncts teach over 50% of the courses, graduated its first student who was taught completely over the internet -- a complete product of distance learning.
Outsourcing is coming to a service industry where unions are traditionally strong.
