certainly not eliminating the prospect for "reentry."

Malaysia after all did exactly that during the "Asian" crises of 1997-1998; 
Argentina did something even more radical and blasphemous in the eyes of 
finance capital, by defaulting on its debt.

Both have experienced little in the way of retaliation.
