Thanks for forwarding this. As a vegan, it's something I've been bandying
about for a while. I'm against - in any way, shape or form - putting animal
liberation/rights above helping human beings take back their rights and lift
themselves out of misery. It makes sense to promote vegetarianism and
infrequent meat-eating by the standards of health, environmental
degradation, and sheer common sense. (It takes between 8 and 16 pounds of
grain to "manufacture" one pound of beef, which is a thoughtless waste of
food.) But those are "speciesist" standards, not animal-liberation
standards.
