John Wheat Gibson comments:
"Censorship is the only way to defend Zionism."

So what is happening on the list is Zionist censorship?  There are some
people like Andy who think you should be kicked out, and there are others,
including Carroll and myself, who think the discussion should be pursued and
nature permitted to take its course. (There are others like Louis who
probably prefer you talk about something else, but do you really want to?)
Anyway, how does any of this constitute ZIONIST censorship. 

I don't grudge you at all your concerns about AIPAC. The pro-Israel lobby,
like the anti-Cuba lobby, is quite powerful, and gets strong backing from
the top of society. This ultimately reflects imperialism's need for Israel
as a gunman in the Middle East, not Jewish rule in the United States. But
your views seem to imply to me, not simply an attitude toward Zionism and
the Palestinian struggle, but a world view of the dominant role or
contention for dominance of world Jewry.

It was you who raised the issue of the control of the US, British, and
French governments by Jewish billionaires, of the US as Israel's "dog".
Can't this assertion be debated.

It was you who asserted that more clever Zionist billionaires have conquered
the minds of the American ruling class, and made Zionism apparently the
governing ideology of the state. And note, the clear implication that the
clever Jewish billionaires are not American, unlike the simple-minded
"American" rich.

And it is you who seem to believe that you are experiencing Zionist
censorship on the Marxism list, whose membership and management are almost
all pretty militantly against the state of Israel and in support of the
Palestinians. How do challenges to your claims about Zionist Jewish control
of America (how about the world) constitute Zionist censorship?

You say because of Zionist rule the US is in the toilet and Israel is
flowering like the green bay tree. This is completely wrong. Every setback
for the United States has been a setback for Israel, up to and including the
latest one in Georgia. Israel is becoming more isolated and more vulnerable.
The wall is a measure of national weakness as well as greed. They basically
lost the war in Lebanon. They have been unable to break Hamas power in
Lebanon. Their military advisers have taken a hit in Georgia. They have not
been able to take on Iran. That is why Israel, like the Bush administration,
is suddenly negotiating and cutting deals with all manner of "outlaws."

I think the time may be here to revisit a historic forgery, The Protocols of
the Learned Elders of Zion. I think that Gibson and others in this debate
should take the time to read it (again if they have seen it before).

As I recall, La Voz de Aztlan originated in the Chicano movement for
democratic rights, but when the movement declined, La Voz arched out into
anti-Semitic cultism.

As racist hate sites go, Jew Watch has a certain antic charm. It features
for example a fine picture of Leon Trotsky on the homepage describing him as
"the Zionist Leon Trotsky of the Zionist USSR."  Still somewhat stuck in the
Henry Ford era of Jew hatred, they have not quite caught up with the New
World Order.

Jew-Watch introduces itself thus:
"James Stenzel Presents...
"This Scholarly Library of Facts about Domestic & Worldwide Zionist
Criminality....
"An Oasis of News for Americans Who Presently Endure the Hateful Censorship
of Zionist Occupation."

Some may find some of this rhetoric innocent or even true (and I have noted
a few radicals picking up the theme of "Zionist occupation of the United
States," but it is 100 percent anti-Semitic. The talk about Zionist
occupation of the United States not only falsifies the nature of US
imperialism but also denies the humanity and right to citizenship the Jewish
population in the United States. It is a pure and simple call for ethnic
cleansing. Nor is censorship re Israel a purely Zionist project. US
imperialism has deep interests in making sure that the truth about Israel
and the Palestinians does not become widely known, since it would outrage
any number of fair-minded people. Quite a few are already outraged, and it
is my impression that a disproportionate number of them are Jews. In
censoring the truth about the US role in the world and in the Middle East,
the Zionists are an ally and also an instrument of US imperialism.

I assume that Gibson has not read The Protocols before. He will be surprised
at how some of what he is saying dovetails.  Others who have seen it before
will benefit from rereading.

The document was produced by the Tsarist secret police to further the fight
against such Jewish creations as "Darwinism, Marxism and Neitzscheism."  I
give the Russian cops credit for recognizing that Nietzsche was NOT an
anti-Semite.

But though a fake, it was an inspired one -- one of the founding documents
of the Twentieth Century paranoid style in politics. A product of the very
real conquest of the world by capitalist powers, the rise of imperialism as
the merger of finance and industrial capital, and the very real contention
for global dominations. Because of their worldwide "dispersion," Jews became
a very natural scapegoat for the clashes, wars, disorder, and national and
international class conflicts that arose from this.

Anyway, I hope that Gibson (and other in the discussion) take a look at the
Protocols, and give the points I have made some thought.
