Talking of Trotskyists who "grew up," George Galloway once remarked
that Christopher Hitchens has achieved the remarkable feat of reversing
evolution by beginning life as a butterfly and turning into an ugly slug.

Since the slug is not the gestational stage of the butterfly, Galloway's
metaphor wasn't quite accurate in the biological sense. However, it
was spot on politically.
