Forum on US Media Attack on China next Friday in S.F. Bay Area

Havana, April 2 (acn) A forum and discussion on the current developments 
in Tibet and the history of that Asian territory since 1949, as well as 
on the current US media crackdown on China has been announced for 
Friday, April 4 in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

The announcement was made by the Party for Socialism and Liberation 
www.pslweb.org, which holds Marxism classes and study groups in the San 
Francisco Bay Area.  

Under the title “A Free Tibet: Freedom for Whom?,” the group invitation 
text to the lecture reads that recently the U.S. media has portrayed a 
shocking Chinese army crackdown on peaceful protests by Buddhist monks 
seeking freedom and democracy in Tibet. But a closer look reveals 
violent riots against ethnic Han Chinese residents by Tibetan 
separatists, supported by the U.S. and other imperialist governments.

Behind this campaign against the People’s Republic of China is President 
George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, the CIA and every other pro-imperialist 
government and media outlet, reads the announcement and adds that the 
majority of people in China, along with many in Tibet, oppose the US-led 
crackdown on China.  

The forum, which will take place at 7 pm at 2489 Mission St. Rm. 28, San 
Francisco, will also answer questions like: What are the real 
aspirations of the leaders of the "Free Tibet" movement? How does this
struggle relate to the international situation? Who is the Dalai Lama 
and what are his ties to U.S. imperialism?
