Good grief. When a Marxist journalist quotes Newsweek so shamelessly, I
really worry about the Green Left comrades.
Here's what the Newsweek article said:
"Still, a crucial piece of the puzzle was missing. Despite a large
number of victims' wounds, few bullets were ever found. The bullets had
to be somewhere--but no one had looked for them. Last November, Ranta
led a team back to the site. Exploring the ravine for the first time,
she said, the experts found the forensic evidence that had lain
untouched for all those months."
Can't you just see it? The investigative team returned to the scene of
the crime and found the bullets. Eureka. They must have had NYC cops
working with them. Just ask the widow of Sean Bell.
Meanwhile, Newsweek quoted Ranta, even after she "discovered" the
bullets: "I see no reason to change anything in my initial statement."
In fact, she never denied that there was a massacre, only that one could
not be proved. "Moreover, medicolegal investigations cannot give a
conclusive answer to the question whether there was a battle or whether
the victims died under some other circumstances."
But that doesn't stop "decent leftists" like David Wall, Michael
Karadjis and Roger Lippman from drawing such a conclusion, that a
massacre took place. Clearly we are dealing with Serbophobe fanatics who
are beyond reason. They have gone beyond the pale and entered the
dubious realm of propaganda. Not propaganda in the Leninist sense but in
the Newsweek sense.
