No, YOU should ask "why"? It's because Bush, et al, probably 
support stability for the largest area of US and imperialist investment 
in the world today. You should ask "Why?" the US is so slow to 
shed crocadile tears for Tibetans and politically irreleant statements 
in support of diplomacy? You should ask "Why?" the US would 
like the whole Tibetan issue swept under the rug.
