Cuba Greets Brazil Labor Party
Sao Paulo, Brazil Sep 1 (Prensa Latina) Cuba sent a solidarity
greeting to the 3rd Brazilian Labor Party Congress on Saturday, its
second day of sessions in this city.
During the opening session, representing the foreign delegations, the
Cuban Communist Party's and the Uruguayan Broad Front spoke.
Fernando Remirez de Estenoz, PCC Foreign Affairs Department head,
greeted the participants in the congress, and highlighted the
historic relations of friendship between the Brazilian and the Cuba
people.
Remirez de Estenoz, who is also PCC Central Committee Secretary, said
that in a world where 11 million children starve to death every year,
and 600 millions youth are illiterate, a change is necessary.
Thus, this PT congress is significantly important in this necessary
process of changes that is in progress in Latin America and the
Caribbean, he highlighted.
He said Cuban social achievements in education and health were
important, as well as solidarity with other people, and remarked on
the importance of internal unity among Latin American progressive
forces.
The Cuban delegation also includes Sergio Cervantes of the
International Relations Department and Maria Antonia Ramos,
a PCC Americas Department official.
