[Marxism] [PEN-L] Al Krebs has died

Al was a friend.  I used to see him from time to time when I lived in San Francisco 
& he dropped in one time unannounced in Chico.  He was a totally committed populist 
in the best sense of the word.  I don't know anybody else who had such a command of 
all of the economic interrelations of the farming sector, with the possible 
exception of Mark Ritchie.

Some of the small farm activists that I know were either romantics or 
rhetoriticians.  Al was neither.
