Fred's comment, I think, marks the first double violation of the rule about putting the name of list participants in the subject line.
We could organize a party about that.
The substance of his comments is uncharacteristically muddled in smudging the defense of the Cuban revolution with a specific analysis of what's happened there. I happen to share his and Waletr's sense about the former, as does Joaquin and others. However, we think it shouldn't be smudged into the latter.
Nobody should organize another party around that smudging.
I repeat my objection to Walter's comment about regrouping on the basis of a position on Cuba. As I have pointed out, this makes participation in such a group contingent on what can only be an act of "faith," in the leadership, as propsective recruits are not going to be sent to Cuba to make a serious study of the issue thesmevles.
It amounts to a religious test of membership and will continue to take radical organizations down the same route we've been pointed for decades.
And it makes me wonder if my old friends have learned anything from their experiecne.
