Elections, someone once noted, are a way of taking the political
temperature of the working class. The votes a progressive third party
(even an embryonic & sort of fuzzy one) gains are a signal to all
concerned of the potential strength of the left. (The frantic efforts of
the DP/RP to block the Green Party from getting on the ballot are a sign
that our rulers don't want us to have that way of signalling to each
other.) In that context, what in the world difference can the
"particular program" of a Green candidate make, and what is gained by
fretting about whether or not she is a "typical Green"!!!
