Bob Morris:

The federal filing, I think, shows she's running for real. There's no real
competition among Greens that I can see that would preclude her getting the
nomination either.

David McDonald:

I spoke to a person who listened in on a Green conference call with
Camejo and Hawkins two days ago.

She said Camejo is supporting Nader, and said Camejo put that support in
the context of his and Nader's suit against the Democrats for messing
around with the Green nomination process in various ways in 2004. Please
note: I did not hear this myself.

If Peter is able to respond, I know that I for one would appreciate
hearing his views.

I am currently engaged in building a mass meeting in a church in the
middle of Seattle's Black community that will feature Cynthia in a
fundraiser for the Jena 6. Although the meeting is planned for Saturday,
November 10, we are just barely started building it. Nevertheless, the
response from the Black community is extremely heartening. I expect a
good meeting and I will report on it to the list.

From my point of view, something like a massive, everything-changing
infusion of Black people in support of someone like McKinney is just
about the only chance the Greens have to avoid the dustbin of history.
IMHO, if the Greens were to miss the opportunity of nominating McKinney
if favor of the septuagenarian Nader it would signal a tin ear for
politics roughly the size of all the metal stolen from Bolivia over the
last five centuries.
