[Marxism] US-Iran alliance in Iraq?

Tehran's prime interest is reducing if not eliminating U.S. efforts
to overthrow the Iranian government and returning Iran to U.S.
domination. So far, the Iranians have been successful at keeping
Washington from overthrowing their regime. Perhaps that's because of
all those books Pathfinder sells at the Tehran book fairs each year.

In addition, Iranians remember well what Washington did to them when
it re-installed the Shah, whose regime really WAS of the quisling type.

There will NEVER be a "viable quisling government" in Iraq because
people don't like liberators who come bearing bayonets. Thus as long
as Iraq is occupied by Washington, there will never be a "viable
quisling government" there. No matter how many times they watch movies
like THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS, they will never understand why people don't
want them there. 

Underestimating people we don't like isn't wise, either. They can and
will surprise us if we confuse what we think or want for what IS.
Hugo Chavez is a pretty smart fellow. He doesn't sneer at the numerous
possibilities inherent in collaboration with the Islamic Republic of
Iran. What does he know which his critics in the United States don't?

It is not a question of "colluding". They have common interests in 
seeing a viable quisling government in power. One of the reasons I find 
notions of a Venezuela-Iran "anti-imperialist" alliance laughable is 
that Iran provided critical intelligence to the USA in its war on the 
Taliban in 2001 and then 2 years later its surrogate in Iraq (SCIRI) 
became the advance guard of the occupation. Of course, the USA wants to 
destroy the Islamic Republic. It has a clear idea of where its class 
interests lie. Unfortunately, the mullah/bazaari bourgeoisie has only a 
dim idea of how to defend its own republic. In many ways, they keep 
shooting themselves in the foot like Stalin on the eve of WWII.
