I agree with that, but the essay is a good summary of Losurdo's work,
which I admire immensely. I wish there were more critics of
liberalism working today, (although, curiously, there is a rich and
elegant literature, emerging only recently, that examines the secret
history of liberal societies - eugenics and social hygeine, for
example). Aside from the evident hegemony of capitalist liberalism,
much of the current wave of apologia for imperialism relies on the
mythology of American exceptionalism which is in turn parasitical on
the claims for its liberalism.
