In spite of the best efforts of the propaganda media, factual
information regarding the assassination of Bhutto is being made
available to the public. The video which was first shown on the
Washington Post and later CNN, identifying a gunman firing shots, is
also being shown repeatedly on Pakistani tv, according to the article
below. This article also shows two different photos, one of the
gunman taking aim, and another of the suicide bomber and gunman
standing together in the crowd before the attack. Two different
people, working together. The assassin is cleanly shaven with a suit
and tie, and wears sunglasses, while the bomber is shrouded in white.
The NY Times, as well as British government spokespersons, say they
have no reason to doubt the official story of Bhutto's death as an
accidental concussion, but in this particular case, their crude
propaganda line has been unmasked immediately by amateur
videographers and photographers, who have made their media available
to international tv and print media.

As reported both in the NY Times on Dec. 18th, and the Washington
Post on Dec. 28th, the Pentagon plans to send US Special Forces to
train and equip Pakistani tribes to fight against Al Qaeda, in
another attempt to use proxy forces. According to the Times, there
are now 50 US Special Forces personnel in the country. The article
indicates that so far, military efforts to fight militants in these
isolated tribal areas has met with little success, leading to large
casualties among Pakistani military and angering the local
tribespeople, who are renowned for being fiercely independent. They
are also known for supporting the Taliban, so I imagine the US is
attempting to bribe them. The separate military force recruited from
the tribes is called the Frontier Corps, according to the Washington
Post report. The Post quotes senior US military sources saying that
there is also a greater willingness among the general staff of the
Pakistani military to use regular Pakistani Forces in the fight,
which somewhat contradicts the article from the Times. And in a
related report from Democracy Now, US officials admit that much of
the 5 billion dollars earmarked for the fight against Al Qaeda in
Pakistan was diverted to finance weapons systems as a deterrent
against India.
