Louis Proyect:

>> Some day Marxists in Britain and Australia will find a way to unite around a
common understanding of the immediate tasks facing the working class without any
of the excess baggage associated with "democratic centralism" and "the Russian
questions". Let¹s hope that the comrades in the British SWP and the Australian
DSP have the good sense to join with them<<.

In terms of uniting around a broader program that doesn't include agreement
on the Russian question the DSP has been advocating this since the 80s. The
SA was never seen by the DSP a static alliance between frozen blocs, but a
process, stages of which could be a class struggle party and/or a larger
revolutionary organisation.

Ed Lewis:

>>The platform probably consist of a number of resolutions... To my knowledge,
these resolutions have not been made public, although it was the DSP¹s practice
in the 1980s to make some or all of the resolutions public before the
convention... What also is not made public is the members¹ discussion<<

If you bothered to look Ed you'll see they are (the key) resolutions. From
before my time, perhaps you'll remember, I've got some editions of a
publication called Socialist Worker from the early 80s which had
pre-conference discussion but which also appeared to be a public magazine
(perhaps not). I also saw recently reference in a report by Jim Percy to the
fact that at one point all discussion was carried in the weekly Direct
Action. Of course there's never been any public publication of any
resolutions or discussion among the Greens at all. How's your heroic
struggle going against that, Ed?
