"—I believe that our press must be increasingly more critical, profound,
intelligent and must accompany the debate requested by the Party, as a
necessary component against bureaucracy, mediocrity, indolence, corruption.
That is an urgent necessity. Transparency, openness and support for the
press without defensive positions must be demanded of Government
institutions. We must create journalism foreign to the frivolity and
manipulation of the capitalist media, such as triumphalism and allegedly
revolutionary rhetoric."
