The real issue is why this "revelation," which was known to quite a few
people for some years, is being released now.  Clearly it tends to put the
breaks on tendencies in the Bush administration to floor the accelerator in
the war drive on Iran.  And to prepare for transferring control of that war
drive to an incoming Clinton administration.

And note: the Iranian government, whatever one may think of it, was telling
the truth about its current nuclear program and the Bush administration and
its bipartisan allies in Congress were lying.

The tendency toward imperialist war against Iran, however, has deep roots in
the situation in that country, in the Middle East, and the world, and will
not disappear when a new US administration takes office.
