I don't see why Andrew or anyone's would take any offense at Joaquin's
comment that "white folks are just that --white, Americans, first and
foremost," but many, white and black would regard him as "white."

He said that people who are regarded as white can't be anything but white.
However, most black people I know (and lots of whites) would regard Joaquin
as "white,"  but Joaquin's generalization doesn't apply to himself.  Even
this shallow a cut into the subject should persuade us that it's a waste of
time cutting any more deeply into it.....

Like Joaquin, I have a great appreciation for both Carlos Marx and Carlos
Mencia.  I have not idea as to what's gained or hoped to be gained by
smudging the difference.
