Still Being Written:
The Story of Three Chinese-Cuban Generals
in the Cuban Revolution

A little-known but important chapter of Chinese emigrant history is told through
interviews with Armando Choy, Gustavo Chui, and Moisés SÃo Wong, three Chinese-
Cubans who became generals in Cubaâs revolution. In Our History Is Still being
Written, Pathfinder Pressâs newest title (www.pathfinderpress.com), the three men
discuss their roles in the 1959 Cuban revolution and talk about what a revolution can
accomplish and Cubaâs role in the world today.
Panelists: Mary- Alice Waters, president of Pathfinder Press and editor and
interviewer of Our History Is Still Being Written; Clara M. Chu, Associate Professor,
Department of Information Studies and Department of Asian American Studies, UCLA;
Nobuko Miyamoto, Founder and Artistic Director, Great Leap; Eugene W. Moy,
VP of Programs, Chinese Historical Society of Southern California

Since Fall 1999, the Asians in the Americas (AiA) Working Group at UCLA has been working
to develop a new way of understanding Asian migration to Canada, the United States, and Latin
America and the communities that have been constructed. Come to an organizing meeting of
faculty, students and community members to plan the future activities of the group.
