And P.S. In the future, I'd suggest refraining from trying to cow your opponents by using scary-oogly-boogly things like *Latin phraseology*. Even if it were an effective tactic in a face-to-face argument (and it is not because it makes one look like a pompous, self-important windbag), it is silly in an online exchange when someone can simply look up the phrases and pretend they know what they are talking about. (For the record, I did not know the precise definition of "jus in bello" or "jus ad bellum." I looked them up on wikipedia.)
* * *
Honestly, DSQ, they are commonly used phases related to the problem I was dicussing. I mean, seriously, would it be pompous to use the phrase coup d'état (according to Wikipedia, that means "the sudden overthrow of a government through unconstitutional means by a part of the state establishment-mostly replacing just the high-level figures")? I am, frankly, more surprised that somebody would think using appropriate phrases was pompous and self-important than I am that you didn't know the phrases.
In any case, I'm happy I expanded your vocabulary. I won't apologize for not assuming people here are too stupid to use a dictionary or even Wikipedia for a term or phrase they didn't know. You did not disappoint me!
Andrew
