The problem isn't the tiresomeness of the thread, but several really
disturbing features of it....
1. Andrew's adding nothing to this argument, as I'm sure he's well aware.
He can only echo what people who don't even claim to be Marxist say at each
other on a regular basis.
2. There simply isn't an honest way to make the argument he wants. So,
instead of an argument, you get undemonstrated assertions and intellectual
misdirection, often made in the most rigid and dogmatic fashion. (Odd, that
last point, it's as if the most objectionable features of Marxism are the
last to be abandoned.) I'm absolutely certain that he's not convincing
anybody that doesn't already agree with him.
3. This mean that what the thread represents is what religious folks call
"witnessing," filling some psychological need to validate these impulses by
parading them. Well, I am impatient with people witnessing that they've
received Jesus Christ as their savior, and less with those who attribute
these qualities to the Democrats.
