We also had to reelect that nuclear power peanut farmer who had saved
the Shah's life.  Otherwise, we'd have Reagan who was going to reverse
everything that Carter had not already reversed.  Reagan got in and the
cuts did not become more drastic and enjoyed all the Democratic support
then that Bushie the Younger has had in the last few years.

The working class was a lot worse off under Reagan than under Carter.
