I think Stone has been chastened somewhat over the years by all the 
establishment critique of his works....Now mind you, I generally admire 
Stone and believe he has some wonderful cinematic accomplishments to his 
credit, i.e. 'Salvador', 'JFK', etc. Few of us, afterall, could withstand 
the same withering public scrutiny w.r.t. our political 
consistencies...Still, it is our job to call it (i.e. the emerging moment) 
as we see it. Much the same sort of critique - and admiration - can be 
levelled at Michael Moore, who has generally performed above and beyond the 
call of duty, but who has also slumped in several prominent instances, 
failing both in depth and consistency of analysis. But as I say, a 
charitable heart and constructive critique must be extended to both.
