If I were in Chavez's position-I would say the same thing.It's in his  country's interest--both internal and external.
 What he said to Fidel etc-just forget it.
 
Cuba is different,a small,poor country;their type of revolution could not  happen now.Besides,US supported them in the beginning thinking that's a democratic revolution
and then Cuba nationalized everything.
