James,Todd and others,
Yugoslavia used to get economic aid from USA.That stopped with the fall of Soviet Union.
At the same time there was an act in Congress that only those republics that vote the way US wishes-will get economic aid.It meant-YOU CAN'T vote socialist.AND they tempted Croatia with money, easy life etc.Croatia had the bank accounts in New York before they separated.
Other players--Germany wanted the Adriatic.
Vatican-can't remember the name of Pope who said in Hungary, that he is for free
and independent Croatia.

Everything was about-to destroy the unity and to end socialsm.

In Bosnia,USA picked Izatbegovich who had worked with German fascists and was condemned by Tito for the war crimes.

In Lisbon all the parties in Bosnia had signed an agreement when USA

told Izatbegovich to lift his signature because 'he would get a
better deal'.

Slobodan Milosevich proposed at the conference in London'that all people should vote and decide if they want to be in Yugoslavia.
USA said NO to that. And then ,later they killed him.

If Soviet Union had lasted--nothing would have happened.
The war turned out to be a war against the Serbs because they remained
Socialist and were bombed for that reason.

I could say so much more but it would take a book.
