Speaking of anti-semitic propaganda I let this go but after that little
brouhaha I think I should conplains about the posting of this article on
this list. it is one of the worst peices of anti-socialist propaganda and a
direct attack of lies on the people of North Korea. Nothing this man syas
about North Korea is true. If he had gone there he would know. Iwas there in
October with a team form the National Lawyers Guild of the US to see for
ourselves what the situation was and none of this stuff is anywhere near the
truth. I haven't got time to rebut everything in here. But what I find
disturbing for a supposedly "marxist" list is the unquestioning posting of a
these slanders against a proud and courageous people who accomplished much
with little and who have not given up the socialist objectives we all
proclaim to have. To post this piece of crap on this site is tantamount to
approving its contents and that I cannot accept quietly.

Actually, when I read this piece from Zmag, I thought that it was far less
informative than anything on the subject I have read by the conservative
Chalmers Johnson. Which says a lot for Zmag. However, much as I might wish I
can't firefight everywhere.
Nevertheless there is nothing stopping you or anyone else challenging the
content of posts such as these. The spectrum of Marxism has a wide variety
of opinions on the subject of North Korea, something partly evidenced by the
inclusion within Zmag of material like this (not that Zmag is overtly
Marxist). But everyone would benefit, Chris, if you were to take time to
take issue with this stuff. Or would you really like participating in a list
where the moderators police absolutely everything?
In addition, as has been said on various occasions, forwarding to the list
does not necessarily entail endorsement. Usually I append commentary to what
I forward, but that is not always possible. Maybe Bill has something to say
on the matter, but we would all benefit from learning more about North Korea
from someone who has actually been there.
